Kate Bridger was born in the UK and moved to Canada with her family in the late 1960s. She studied landscape architecture at the University of Toronto and later worked in publishing as an art director. Thirty + years ago, while living in northern Ontario, Kate began stitching her way into craft shows and, soon after, galleries and exhibitions.

Kate has since won awards for her meticulously detailed renderings of everything from rusty trucks to magnificent landscapes, street scenes to fruit bowls, abstracts to portraits.

Kate lived in Nelson for twenty five years during which time she published four books, raised two sons, owned a downtown gallery, offered interior design consultations and worked in real estate while continuing to produce her unique Fabric Art.

In December, 2019, Kate moved to Comox on Vancouver Island where she enjoys exploring her new and inspiring environment and incorporating it into her work.
