Blown Glass Garden Art, Diane Brinton

Glass is melted in a hot torch flame, while molten it is blown & sculpted, then annealed in a kiln. It can behave unpredictably when added to other types of chemically reactive substances, metals, enamels, frit, murrine or “pixie” dust (yes, there are pixies in her studio). Often unexpected reactions or happy accidents result in the most interesting pieces.
