Artists and creatives with a connection to Qualicum Beach are invited to submit artwork to be featured on street banners throughout the community, as part of the Town’s new Street Banner Artists Program.

The program aims to animate the downtown core by celebrating the unique landscape, culture and character of Qualicum Beach. Submissions are being accepted now until January 18, 2026.

“The launch of this program celebrates creativity and adds to the vibrancy of Qualicum Beach,” shares Mayor Teunis Westbroek. “We're eager to see how artists with a connection to our Town view our community, and we’re excited for the opportunity to showcase their works in a public space.”

Artists are invited to submit up to three existing works or new concepts, under five program themes: Celebrating Qualicum Beach, Nature, History & Heritage, Arts & Culture and Active Lifestyle. Eligible applicants do not have to live in Qualicum Beach but must have a connection to the area.

Submissions will be evaluated by a review panel formed by the Town, the Qualicum Beach Chamber of Commerce and The Old School House Arts Centre. Selected artists will be invited to have their artwork printed on street banners and hung in the spring. Each selected work will receive a $500 honorarium and recognition through the Town’s communication channels.

To support interested applicants, the Town is hosting a Virtual Information Session at noon on December 17.
