Kat Cearns
Exhibit Feb 3 - May 1
Kat Cearns is a visual artist living and working on the traditional territory of the K’ómoks, Snaw- naw-as, and Te’mexw Treaty Association on Central Vancouver Island. Growing up and living on Vancouver Island has instilled in her a great appreciation for the natural world that is reflected in her work. Working in a variety of media, she focuses on colour, movement, and light to create a story in each image she creates.
Kat has been creative her entire life, and for the past fifteen years she has focused on making a career through practice and education. Most recently she completed a life-changing artist residency in Tokyo. Going forward she intends to seek opportunities in illustration, residencies in Canada and abroad, as well as creating personal bodies of work in painting and illustration. Making and sharing art feels like her purpose and she intends to make it her lifetime pursuit.
