Born in 1947, moved to Qualicum Beach in 2011. Took up art 20 years ago. Mostly oil with subjects including sailing, harbours, street scenes, wildlife and portraits
Biography
I was born in Montreal in 1947. I remember my parents being involved with charcoal sketching and oil painting. However, my interests growing up were skiing and sailing. It wasn't until 20 years ago that I became interested in art. I took classes in sketching, acrylic and oil painting. I use photographs for my inspiration. I moved to Qualicum Beach with my family in 2011. We got involved with sailing, cruising, hiking. I coach Special Olympics swimming. We live outside of Qualicum Beach on a 3 acre property, surrounded by trees. The location has inspired me to continue with my art. I sketch on canvas, do an underpainting in acrylic and finish with oil (leaving some underpainting showing). My subjects include sailing, harbours, street scenes, wildlife and portraits.
