Celebrating Canada’s Creative Community: Oceanside Arts Magazine September 2026

Welcome to the latest issue of Oceanside Arts Magazine, a free monthly publication celebrating artists, writers, musicians and creative communities across Canada.

This issue brings together a wonderful collection of voices and perspectives from across the Canadian arts landscape. Inside, you’ll find inspiring conversations with painters, sculptors, illustrators, ceramic artists and mixed-media artists, each sharing insights into their creative journeys, influences, processes and artistic philosophies.

Contributing artists and writers in this issue include Colette Tan, Dave Klinger, Keitha McClocklin, Kim Hancock, Larry Stuart, Sabuto Murata, Terri Bowen, Tricia Sellmer and Brandy Saturley.

I’m pleased to be a contributor among this talented group of Canadian creatives and to share a little about my own journey and experience in the Canadian arts community, from coast to coast to coast.

My contribution continues my ongoing exploration of the Canadian arts landscape, looking beyond the country's major cultural centres and into the artists, galleries and creative communities that are shaping contemporary Canadian art in their own regions.

One of the things I particularly enjoy about Oceanside Arts Magazine is its commitment to creating space for these conversations. Art in Canada is not confined to Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver. It is being created in studios, galleries and communities from coast to coast, each with its own stories, perspectives and creative energy.

This issue offers a wonderful opportunity to discover some of those voices and to explore the many different ways artists are responding to place, experience and the world around them.
