December 2025 OCAC Newsletter

A monthly publication celebrating the arts, creativity, and culture of the Oceanside region.

Welcome to the December 2025 edition of the Oceanside Community Arts Council Newsletter!

As we wrap up another creative year in Oceanside, this month’s newsletter is filled with inspiring stories, artist features, community highlights, and festive events to close out 2025 on an uplifting note. Our region’s artistic energy continues to shine, and this issue brings together a wonderful collection of articles that reflect the depth and diversity of our creative community.

In this edition, we’re pleased to feature a beautifully crafted profile on Jordan Blackstone, whose fine art photography continues to captivate audiences with its emotional depth and connection to nature. Jordan shares insights into her artistic journey and her evolving creative practice in “Jordan Blackstone – Fine Art Photographer/Artist/Illustrator.”

For those seeking hands-on creative engagement, don’t miss “Strum into Fun,” a lively look at accessible music-making opportunities in the community, and “Introduction to Zentangle,” a gentle entry point into mindful drawing—perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to bring calm into the holiday season.

This month’s exhibitions roundup highlights new and ongoing shows at the McMillan Arts Centre (MAC), Bayside Gallery, and local studios. Seasonal favourites are also in full swing: the MAC Gift Shop’s Christmas FIZZ offers unique handcrafted gifts, and the MAC Christmas FunFest continues to brighten the season for families and visitors.

Traveling For Arts Sake returns with a visit to Giverney

Wishing you a joyful, art-filled holiday season—and we look forward to sharing more stories, profiles, and creative adventures with you in the year ahead.
