Ocean Wanderer was inspired by a time in my life when I unexpectedly became an underwater photographer in Barbados. What began as a change of plans turned into an incredible experience of spending days beneath the surface of the ocean, swimming alongside sea turtles and capturing moments in their peaceful underwater world.
This piece reflects the calm curiosity of a turtle moving gently through the water, surrounded by shifting light and colour. Layers of hand-placed dots create a feeling of depth, movement, and the quiet rhythm of the ocean.
The glowing centre within the turtle represents both life and energy, echoing the sense of wonder I felt during those moments underwater.
Ocean Wanderer celebrates the beauty of exploration, reminding us that sometimes the most meaningful journeys happen when we allow ourselves to drift with the current.
Among the images accompanying this artwork is a photograph I captured while swimming with sea turtles in Barbados — a moment of connection and wonder that helped inspire this piece.
There’s way more to this story.
