The Fab Four of Florence.
An exploration of the work (in architecture, scuplture, painting and literature) of four friends (Brunelleschi, Donatello, Masaccio and Alberti) who initiated the Italian Renaissance. Participants will be encouraged to share their responmses to the images presented.
Six classes: Tursday 7 March to Thursday 11 April, 10:00am – fee $60.
Course fees are by course and payable at the door at the first class.
Instructor: John Black
Philosopher John Black taught Liberal Studies at VIU. His interest in Renaissance art and music led to 26 years of teaching these subjects to students and community members, mostly from Vancouver Island, in Florence. He has taught art history and European travel courses for Elder College since retiring in 2017.
