BC Youth Week and National Mental Health Week is being marked in Qualicum Beach with the first annual art show featuring the thoughtful work of students grades 6 to 12. What does nurturing nature really mean, to us as individuals and as humankind?

Thanks to MLA Adam Walker for providing the venue, and sponsors Rotary, Vancouver Island University, the Qualicum school district, and the Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Reserve for making it happen.

There’ll be an opening Gala on May 6th from 1 to 3pm, and a Sustainable Development Goals Workshop for students in Grade 6 and up to figure out how to make the global become local.

Diane Moran, the visual artist and community activist is inspiration behind this event. Since 1998 she has imagined projects internationally and nationally that help educate others about everyday issues through art. Now it’s Oceanside’s turn!
