Have you been curious about trying an art class, but not sure what medium you would like? Not ready to commit to a full class (and art supplies) if you don’t know you’ll like it? Why not try this sampler course?
Art Bites is a course designed to give you a taste of a variety of art mediums. Each 2-hour class introduces you to a new medium and show you the basic techniques using a small array of supplies. Everything is provided; you don’t have to bring a thing! Go home each week with a piece of your own and a sense of how this art medium works.
Pick and choose one or more classes. Classes are $35 each.
AM classes are 10am-12pm; PM classes are 1-3 pm.

Students will be mixing colours, using warm and cool tones to create an individual colour palette. A variety of mediums will be used for this project to help understand the fundamental science of colour. Several small painting projects will be assigned during this class that will help in the understanding of applied theory.

About the Instructor: Margery Blom BFA is an oil paint artist specializing in scenes from Vancouver Island. Margery displays in galleries all over the Island and is an active member of FCA. You can find Margery as Resident Artist at the McMillan Arts Centre on Thursdays.

In this series, we will learn how to meditate alone and in circle, and use the art of journaling to reflect about our experience as we go deeper into creating pauses with a mindfulness practice.In meditation, you will learn about how to be mindful in body, mind and breath and create a daily practice.
