Since 1973, the Errington Farmers’ Market has served the communities of Errington, Coombs, Hilliers, Whiskey Creek, and Parksville.“Make it, Bake it, Grow it” is the basic tenet of farmers’ markets. This means that in order to sell at the market, each vendor has to be directly involved in the making, baking or growing of their product! Customers are encouraged to ask questions of the farmers, food producers and artisans to receive knowledgeable, accurate answers.Shopping at farmers’ markets is a way to truly “Support Local”, and it’s a great way to connect with people in the area, learn new things, and try different foods.Finding us is easy! We are only 2 km off the Port Alberni Highway on your way to Englishman River Falls Provincial Park.

By Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer & Henry Shields

    Directed by Gary Brown

The smash hit farce!  On the opening night of "Murder at Haversham Manor'", things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous.  This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show – an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines).  Nevertheless, the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences.  Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this Olivier Award-winning comedy is a global phenomenon that’s guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter.

  • Location: McMillan Arts Centre 133 McMillan Street PO Box 1662 Parksville, BC, V9P 2H5

Kat Cearns is an emerging artist and illustrator based in Coombs here on Vancouver Island. Her practice is ever-growing and evolving, driven by daily inspiration and a fundamental need to create. She works in a wide range of mediums including ink, watercolour, acrylic, block printing, oil, encaustic, and more. Art has always been a way for Kat to communicate with people. As a shy individual, expressing her inner self through an art practice has been a wonderful and fulfilling way to open up to new relationships and connections. Her subjects are often animals, both in natural states and settings, as well as whimsical and fantastical scenarios. Kat aims to depict and express her feelings of awe and gratitude for the minute, often overlooked moments in life that, when added up, make every day beautiful.

  • Location: Bayside Restaurant
  • Description:

    Sheryl Sawchuk Artist Statement

I love to paint! Since I was a child who could barely hold a crayon until today I have never lost the fascination and enjoyment of using colours and lines to represent the people and things in the world around me.

I moved to Vancouver Island in 2003 and leapt into the challenge of becoming a full time artist, for subject matter I simply look around, living on Vancouver Island there is almost always something beautiful to see at every turn. It doesn’t matter if I’m on the beach, hiking in the woods, or in my garden, I like to examine things up close so I can explore the details and really appreciate the intricacies that I see.

I hope that when people view my art they can sense and share in the amazement and appreciation that I have for
the subject that I am so happy to experience and paint!
