Since 1973, the Errington Farmers’ Market has served the communities of Errington, Coombs, Hilliers, Whiskey Creek, and Parksville.“Make it, Bake it, Grow it” is the basic tenet of farmers’ markets. This means that in order to sell at the market, each vendor has to be directly involved in the making, baking or growing of their product! Customers are encouraged to ask questions of the farmers, food producers and artisans to receive knowledgeable, accurate answers.Shopping at farmers’ markets is a way to truly “Support Local”, and it’s a great way to connect with people in the area, learn new things, and try different foods.Finding us is easy! We are only 2 km off the Port Alberni Highway on your way to Englishman River Falls Provincial Park.

This exhibition contains a collection of small ink drawings in shadow boxes. Influenced by museum displays and zoological drawings, these works bring attention to the individual—showing the unique physical differences between Southern Residents. This collection represents specific members and shows the variations in their saddle patches, the white/grey markings on their backs, aiding researches in orca identification. The drawings are suspended like scientific specimens, bringing attention to their delicacy and giving them the appearance of swimming.

NB: Natasha will be hosting a FREE drop-in colouring bookmark activity on Sunday, June 4th, starting a

  • Sing Again community choir

  • Jun 12, 2023 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm
  • Location: Parksville Community Park
  • Description:

Do you miss the joy of singing in community, but not a formal choir? Sing Again this summer in a fun, encouraging group, and explore your voice and creative expression, as well as learn to sing in harmony by ear. All voices are welcome regardless of age, gender, or experience - it's not about talent, it's about connection!

You're welcome to drop in until the end June and try it out, and see if you want to join us for the summer. We'll be gearing up for a big community singalong at Knox United Church on August 26th, and learning a set of songs from ABBA and The Beatles to Cyndi Lauper and Great Big Sea, as well as a few from local bluesman Gerry Barnum (who'll be joining us at Knox). Choir members will have the option to join me on stage at the big event!

I have two weekly groups starting June 12 and 15 (drop in open for the rest of June):

    1) Mondays at 5pm at Parksville Community Park (picnic shelter, behind the playground)

    2) Thursdays at 3pm at the McMillan Arts Centre (The MAC).
